The Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) is a large network of ancient pilgrim routes stretching across Europe and coming together at the tomb of St. James (Santiago in Spanish) in Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain. Yearly, hundreds of thousands of people of various backgrounds seek the incredible opportunity to disconnect and experience a slower daily life with few modern interruptions. Depending on the path chosen (there are several routes to choose from), the journey can last between 7 and 30 days. Local friends Susan Barg, Joan Klaus, Maureen Bardusk and Bonnielynn Kreiser present images and experiences from their 34 day, 486 mile pilgrimage along Camino de Santiago - from the Pyrenees in France to the cathedral in Santiago, Spain. This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
