Overview

This nationally-acclaimed one-man show portrays the wit and wisdom of American humorist Mark Twain. Jim Post blends his skills as a storyteller, actor, historian and musician to take the audience from the adventures of Twain’s youth to his early writing career and up to the point of his first big successes.

According to the Smithsonian Institution, “Mark Twain & The Laughing River is nothing less than brilliant, and each sentence and song is a gem."   The Chicago Sun-Times calls the performance "Rousing... an ideal family show."   The Washington Post says "Jim Post is one man tour de force - part musical, part drama and thoroughly entertaining."

Inspired by the little-known fact that Twain sang tenor, played banjo, guitar and piano and loved to show off at parties, Post has created an exceptional musical experience using Twain’s humor to take audiences from dialogue to song, stories to historical fact and laughter to nostalgia.

Known for his hit song, "Reach Out of the Darkness," which peaked at #10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, Post brings 30 years of show business and 20 record albums to his performances.
